What courses do you need to take in high school that are required to be a massage therapist?

Im in grade 10 and thinking of becoming a massage therapist when i graduate, But im not sure what courses i need? What courses do you need to take in high school that are required to be a massage therapist?
You will need to take science classes. Biology and anatomy specifically.

Massage therapists must be licensed by the state at least in 35 and D.C.

You should check the testing requirements in your state.

You are very smart to recognize that you will need specialized course work. Not all of it may be available to you in your high school.

Check with the local technical colleges in your area. The first thing you will want to know is how many of their graduates actually pass the state tests.

There is a local school in my area which advertises like crazy. They have misleading ads which suggest that you just need the manual training. Their students do not pass the state exams and do not become licensed.

You will also want to learn about all of the different types of massage. But you probably already know that.

You may also want to look at all of the science classes which are offered.

Phys Ed may also be important for you as well. Some types of Massage Therapy can be very strenuous for the therapist.

There are good demo clips on You Tube.

Best Wishes in your education and career choice. What courses do you need to take in high school that are required to be a massage therapist?
Just graduate. I work as a massage therapist and they will teach you what you need to know when you get into massage school. I would recommend taking anatomy if you can before you graduate just to make it easier when you get in massage school. Everything else offered in massage school is not offered in high school.
The people I know who are doing that kind of work (chiropractor, massage, sports medicine) now were people who were involved in martial arts, sports or body building activity of some kind themselves when they were young. The site below, has more information.

You will need courses in physical and health education and, anatomy. Also you will need to consider a few things before embarking on a career in massage. Things like what appropriate school what area of massage specialization. Check out the how to find massage courses at the blog below.
