Anyone know about how many years you have to take classes for becoming a massage therapist?

I'm only a freshman in high school but I'm trying to at least get an idea of what field I'd want to go into.

Anyone have information about becoming a massage therapist?Anyone know about how many years you have to take classes for becoming a massage therapist?
It varies from state to state. Some states do not even regulate massage (as in there are no requirements) however, that will slowly change within the next fews years. State laws that regulate massage constantly change in order to protect the public and increase the standards of the therapists. The website I've given you here will have a list of all the states and their requirements. I would also try to stay current with any of the massage laws within the state you live in or would want to practice because by the time you graduate high school they may change.

I live in New Jersey and when I started school for massage the requirement was to be certified. Now a bill has been passed just this month stating anyone who wishes to practice massage in NJ needs to be licensed. As this proves, things change. But only because there's too many ';massage parlors'; out there that give MT's a bad rap.

Also, when reading over the list, don't let the hours throw you off. Trust me, they fly by. However, if you would like any other information about this feel free to email me. I'd be more than happy to help.Anyone know about how many years you have to take classes for becoming a massage therapist?
it takes about 4months to a year.
9 months of training. Some states have no requirements.
