My massage therapist recently opened his own salon. Prior to that, he worked at a spa. I usually tipped him $10 to $15 since I figured he only got about 1/3 of what I paid for the hour, the rest going to the spa. Since he works for himself now, and all his hourly rate goes directly to him, how much or should I tip him? Thanks! How much to tip a massage therapist?
You normally tip 15-20% of the price of service, and it doesnt matter if he is working for himself. He still has supplies to buy, insurance, rent, linens ect to buy, so dont give any less since he is working by himself. You tip just as you would a waitress. How much to tip a massage therapist?
You probably don't have to tip him as much although he may have come to sort of expect it. Ask him!
If you think his massage is really good than a tip show your appreciation.
